Rent Mercedes E400 cabriolet in Dubai

The E400 is the E-Class cabriolet with the earlier engine, a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 with 329 hp. It has a slightly rougher, deeper note than the newer six-cylinder in the E450, and plenty of mid-range pull for overtaking on the Emirates Road.

The E-Class cabriolet is a size up from the C-Class and the CLE, and you notice it in the back: there is room for adults rather than just children on trips of an hour or more. Navigation is built into the MBUX system, so you are not relying on your phone for a day trip.

It and the E450 suit the same people. If both are free on your dates, the E450 is the newer car; if only this one is, you lose very little.

Frequently Asked Questions: Mercedes E400 cabriolet Rental Dubai

E400 or E450 cabriolet: which should I choose at the same price?

The E450 is the newer car, with an inline-six and mild hybrid. The E400 has the older 3.0-litre V6 biturbo with 329 hp, which some drivers prefer for its sound and simpler feel. Same roof, same AIRSCARF, same four seats; pick on availability and taste.

How long does the E400 roof take to open?

About 20 seconds, and the mechanism keeps working while the car rolls slowly, so a red light is long enough. It is a fabric roof with a glass rear window, which keeps the boot usable with the top down.

Is the E400 cabriolet comfortable in Dubai heat?

Roof up, yes: dual-zone climate control and heated and ventilated front seats cool you down quickly after the car has sat in the sun. Roof down, keep it for mornings and evenings between October and April.

Does the E400 have blind-spot monitoring and a camera?

Both, along with active brake assist, MBUX navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The leather interior has ambient lighting and a wireless charging pad.
