Ford in our fleet means the Mustang GT, the 5.0-litre V8 that has defined the American muscle car for decades, and the cheapest way to drive a V8 in Dubai. We rent three: the previous-generation 55 Edition, which is the most affordable V8 we have; the Mustang GT with an active-valve exhaust that can be switched to a quieter mode; and the 2026 GT Premium convertible from the new generation.
All three drive their rear wheels through a ten-speed automatic, and all have four seats, though the rear ones suit children or bags more than adults.

Rear-wheel drive, dusty roads and summer starts
With 450 to 480 hp going to the rear wheels, a Mustang needs a gentle right foot on dusty roads and on the rare wet days. The convertible is at its best on winter evenings; in summer, start it from the key fob to cool the cabin before you get in.
